- 8 ounces cremini mushrooms, thinly sliced

- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 carrots, peeled and diced
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves
- 2 stalks celery, diced
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 cup half and half, or more, as needed
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 sprig rosemary
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 bay leaf
Preparation
- In a large stockpot, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- In a bowl, season chicken thighs with salt and pepper and add the chicken to the stockpot.
- Cook the chicken thighs until they turn golden brown and set aside.
- Add butter in the stockpot and melt over medium heat.
- Add onion, mushrooms, garlic, celery, and carrots, and cook.
- Stir the ingredients occasionally until the vegetables are tender. This will take about 4 minutes.
- Add thyme into the pot until fragrant.
- Add flour into the pot until it turns slightly brown.
- Mix in the chicken stock, chicken thighs, bay leaf, and cook.
- Make sure you are constantly mixing the ingredients until the mixture is slightly thickened.
- Now add half and half until heated properly.
- Season the soup with salt and pepper to taste and if the consistency of the soup is too thick, add more half and half.
- Pour the prepared soup in a large bowl and garnish with rosemary and parsley.

- Now peel the onion and add into the pan along with the lamb.

- Let the mixture simmer for 15 minutes or until the lamb is cooked through.
- Using a slotted spoon, remove the lamb from the pan and set aside to cool.
- Separate the meat from the bone and return the meat to the pan.
- Peel and cut 1 kg turnip into 1 cm pieces and add them to the pan.
- Bring the mixture to a boil and simmer until the turnip pieces are soft.
- Peel and slice carrots into 1 cm pieces and add to the pan.
- Bring the mixture to a boil and simmer until the carrots are tender.
- Now peel the potatoes and cut them into quarters and add to the pan.
