Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes

What if we told you that cake mix isn’t just for cake? You can make nearly anything with a box of cake mix, from creamy milkshakes to chewy Rice Krispie treats. We’re currently craving these ice cream cone cupcakes topped with juicy red cherries.
Ingredients
- 1 box of cake mix, any variety
- Egg, oil, and water, if the cake mix calls for these ingredients
- 1 tub of frosting, any flavor
- 12 ice cream cones
- Sprinkles, cherries, chocolate chips, or crushed nuts for topping
Preparation
- Prepare cake mix according to the instructions on the box and pour into muffin liners, filling each liner about 2/3 full. We recommend using large muffin liners for flat-bottomed cones and and smaller liners for pointed-tip sugar cones.
- Place one cone face-down on top of each batter-filled muffin liner.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Tip: Some manufacturers sell oven-safe cone holders specifically made for ice cream cone cupcakes. Skip the liners and fill the cones directly if you own one of these handy cone holders.
Cake Mix Cobbler

Create a new family favorite with just three ingredients when you whip up this cake mix cobbler. This is an awesome cake mix hack sure to delight your loved ones.
Ingredients
- 1 box of white or yellow cake mix
- 2 ½ cups of Sprite, Sierra Mist, or 7UP
- 4 cups of frozen berries, any variety
Preparation
- Assemble frozen berries on the bottom of a 9 x 13 pan or casserole dish.
- Top with dry cake mix.
- Pour clear soda over the top of the cake mix and berries.
- Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 40 to 45 minutes.
Cake Mix Fudge

Whip up this cake mix fudge in a jiffy without battling with sticky marshmallow creme or melting chocolate chips over a double boiler.
Ingredients
- 2 cups of white cake mix
- 2 cups of powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup of butter, divided
- 1/4 cup of milk
- 1/4 cup of sprinkles
Preparation
- Sift cake mix and powdered sugar in a microwave-safe bowl.
- Add milk and butter, but do not stir.
- Microwave on high for 2 minutes.
- Remove bowl from microwave and stir, then add in colored sprinkles.
- Pour fudge into greased or lined 8 x 8 baking pan, then refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours before serving.
German Cake Bars

These gooey bars pair perfectly with a steaming mug of hot cocoa or cappuccino. Whip up a big batch and enjoy them for days (well, if you have more self-control than we do).
Ingredients
Crust
- 1 box of Devil’s Food cake mix
- 1 stick of butter, melted
- 1 large egg
Filling
- 1 can of sweetened condensed milk
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup of chopped pecans
- 1 cup of shredded coconut
- 1/2 cup of chocolate chips
Preparation
- Combine the crust ingredients in a large bowl and stir well, then press into the bottom of a greased 9 x 13 pan.
- Bake the crust for 7 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. As the crust bakes, combine all of the filling ingredients except the chocolate chips.
- Remove the crust from the oven, then pour the filling onto the crust. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top of the filling.
- Return the pan to the oven and bake for 24 to 28 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Remove, let cool, then cut into squares.
Red Velvet Rice Krispie Treats

Red velvet cake mix lends a sophisticated touch and rich flavor to these kid-friendly Rice Krispie treats that are also a hit with adults.
Ingredients
- 1 box of red velvet cake mix
- 1 cup of salted butter, melted
- 1 bag of mini marshmallows
- 6 cups of Cocoa Krispies
- 1 cup of white chocolate chips
Preparation
- Combine marshmallows and melted butter in a large pot, stirring until marshmallows become soft and sticky.
- Add red velvet cake mix and stir until combined, making sure to gently break up any lumps.
- Stir in Cocoa Krispies. Pour mixture into a greased pan and let cool for 15 minutes.
- Drizzle with melted white chocolate and enjoy.
Funfetti Casserole

Funfetti casserole lets your family start the day with a burst of vibrant color and sweet flavor.
Ingredients
- 2 cans of cinnamon rolls
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla
- 1/2 cup of Funfetti cake mix
- 1/8 cup of sprinkles
Preparation
- Cut the refrigerated cinnamon rolls into small chunks and place them in a greased 13 x 9 pan.
- Combine remaining ingredients in a bowl and beat until blended. Pour the mixture over the cinnamon roll chunks.
- Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 to 25 minutes. Top with the icing included in the refrigerated cinnamon roll cans, and garnish with additional sprinkles.
Pumpkin Dip

If you’re one of those people who rush to Starbucks the minute the Pumpkin Spice latte arrives each year, then this cake mix hack is just for you. You’re going to absolutely love this pumpkin dip.
Ingredients
- 2 cups of Cool Whip or a similar frozen whipped topping
- 1 ¼ cups of yellow cake mix, dry
- 1/2 cup canned pumpkin
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice
- 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon of salt
Preparation
- Combine all ingredients except Cool Whip and stir until smooth.
- Add Cool Whip and stir until no white streaks remain.
- Serve with fruit, pretzels, graham crackers, or cookies. You can also spread it on toast, muffins, bagels, and waffles.

- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup of cake mix, any variety
- 2 large eggs
- 1 ¼ cup of milk
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 3/4 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/8 teaspoon of salt
Preparation
- Sift dry ingredients in a large bowl and wet ingredients in a separate bowl.
- Pour wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients and mix well.
- Pour mixture onto hot griddle and cook pancakes.
- Top with sprinkles, fresh fruit, butter, or syrup.

We’ve seen tons of recipes for cake mix cookies floating around the Web, but these lemon cake mix cookies with a sweet lemon glaze are at the top of our list of favorites.
Ingredients
- 1 box of lemon cake mix
- 1/2 cup of vegetable or canola oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup of white chocolate chips
Preparation
- Combine all ingredients and bake for 7 to 10 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Let cool for 10 minutes, then top with a glaze made of 2 tablespoons lemon juice and 1 cup powdered sugar, if desired.
