Healthy dog food can be found at your local pet store of course, but we’ve compiled recipes that you can easily make at home, too. If you feel like getting creative, read on! Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup of kidney beans, drained
  • 1 cup of black beans, drained
  • 1 cup of carrots, diced
  • 1/2 cup of tomato paste
  • 4 cups of chicken broth

Preparation

  1. Remove the excess fat and dice the chicken breasts into nickel-sized pieces.
  2. Cook the chicken breasts in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat until cooked through.
  3. Add the chicken, beans, carrots, tomato paste, and chicken broth into a large pot and cook over medium heat until heated through – about 10 minutes.
  4. Allow the mixture to cool before serving.
  5. Store leftover chili in the fridge for up to five days.

  • 1/2 cup of green beans, chopped
  • 1/2 cup of carrots, chopped
  • 1/2 cup of broccoli, chopped
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats.
  • 4 cups of low-salt chicken broth

Preparation

  1. Remove excess fat from the chicken breasts and cut the breasts into small nickel-sized chunks.
  2. Cook the chicken breasts in a non-stick skillet over medium heat until cooked through.
  3. Add the chicken, vegetables, rolled oats, and chicken broth to a large pot and cook over medium heat until the carrots are tender – about 15 minutes.
  4. Allow to cool before serving.
  5. Store leftover casserole portions in fridge for up to five days.

  • 4 cups H2O
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 2 cups brown rice
  • 1 cup carrots, chopped
  • 1 cup green beans, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fish oil (optional)

Preparation

  1. Cook ground turkey in a non-stick skillet over medium heat until the meat is cooked through and browned.
  2. Add the brown rice, turkey, and water to a large pot and bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook an additional 15 minutes, or until the rice is soft and tender.
  4. Add the carrots and green beans and cook for an additional 5 to 10 minutes, until the vegetables are tender.
  5. Allow to cool before serving.
  6. Store extra dinners in the fridge for up to five days.

  • 1 1/2 cups brown rice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 pounds ground turkey
  • 3 cups baby spinach, chopped
  • 2 carrots, shredded
  • 1 zucchini, shredded
  • 1/2 cup peas, canned or frozen

Preparation

  1. In large saucepan of 3 cups water, cook rice according to package instructions; set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large stockpot or Dutch oven over medium heat.
  3. Add ground turkey and cook until browned, about 3-5 minutes, making sure to crumble the turkey as it cooks.
  4. Stir in spinach, carrots, zucchini, peas and brown rice until the spinach has wilted and the mixture is heated through, about 3-5 minutes.
  5. Let cool completely before serving.

  • 1lb ground meat
  • 1 1/2 cups brown rice
  • 4 cups finely chopped veggies (carrots, sweet potatoes)
  • 5 cups chicken broth

Preparation

  1. Fry the meat until it’s browned through.
  2. Add rice and mix well.
  3. Add 3 cups of the broth. Bring to a boil and simmer gently for five minutes.
  4. Add veggies and remaining broth, simmer very gently for about 20 minutes, until broth is absorbed. Add a little more broth if all the liquid cooks off.
  5. Cool and serve, or freeze for later.
