Having a dinner party but not sure what to greet your guest with? It’s okay to throw something simple and quick together. Here are five quick and easy recipes.

Pizza Sticks

Ingredients

  • 1 (12-oz.) refrigerated thin pizza crust
  • 1 (10.5-oz.) container tomato bruschetta topping
  • 1 cup (4 oz.) shredded Italian cheese blend

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
  2. Top refrigerated thin pizza crust with 1 container tomato bruschetta topping.
  3. Sprinkle evenly with 1 cup shredded Italian cheese blend.
  4. Bake at 450°, directly on oven rack, 12 minutes or until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
  5. Cut pizza in half, then cut each half lengthwise into 2-inch strips.

Mini Caprese Bites

Ingredients

  • 1 pt. grape tomatoes, halved
  • 10 to 14 fresh small mozzarella cheese balls, cut into thirds
  • 32 wooden skewers
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 6 fresh basil leaves, sliced thin
  • Salt & pepper

Preparation

  1. Thread 1 tomato half, 1 piece of cheese, then another tomato half onto each skewer. Place skewers in a shallow serving dish.
  2. Whisk together oil and next 3 ingredients. Drizzle oil mixture over skewers; sprinkle with basil and salt and pepper.

Easy Shrimp

Shelled-Fresh-Shrimps

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Old Bay seasoning
  • 3 pounds unpeeled, large raw shrimp
  • Garnishes: lemon slices and wedges, fresh parsley sprigs

Preparation

  1. Combine 9 cups water and Old Bay seasoning.
  2. Bring to a boil; add shrimp.
  3. Cover, remove from heat, and let stand 15 to 20 minutes or just until shrimp turn pink.
  4. Drain well; garnish, then serve immediately with sauces.

Melon, Mozzarella, and Prosciutto Skewers

Ingredients

  • 20 (1-inch) cantaloupe or honeydew cubes (about 2 1/2 cups)
  • 20 thin slices prosciutto (about 1/2 lb.)
  • 20 fresh small mozzarella cheese balls (about 1 [8-oz.] tub)
  • 20 (4-inch) wooden skewers
  • Freshly cracked pepper

Preparation

  1. Thread 1 melon cube, 1 prosciutto slice, and 1 mozzarella ball onto each wooden skewer.
  2. Sprinkle with pepper to taste.

Ham & Biscuits

Ingredients

  • Frozen tea biscuits (such as Mary B’s)
  • Thin slices of country ham
  • Flavored butter and mustard blends

Preparation

  1. Bake frozen tea biscuits and fill with thin slices of country ham that have been browned in a hot skillet 1 to 2 minutes on each side.
  2. Flavor with butter and mustard.
